On the morning of November 16th, 2014, ISIS published a video in which Peter Kassig, along with numerous other hostages, were executed with knives. The video appeared to be recorded in Dabek, a region north of the Aleppo countryside. A man wearing a black mask addresses Barack Obama, saying, "today we are slaughtering the soldiers of Bashar and tomorrow we will be slaughtering your soldiers."
Peter Kassig was a 23 year old U.S. citizen who left his home to become an medical aid worker in Syria. He worked for the Syrian Revolution in Deir al-Zour, accompanying rebels and treated them when they were wounded. Kassig himself was wounded on one of his missions, but still provided medical support in Syria.
Despite his courage and good heart, ISIS captured him in Al-Raqqa almost a year ago, and today we saw him brutally slaughtered.
